Type: Contract to Hire, Must be in the office 3-4 days a week

Role Overview

We are seeking a Business Intelligence Lead on behalf of this Specialty Food & Beverage Company. This Lead position will be a strategic and business-facing role that will be responsible for spearheading BI initiatives and driving the next evolution of the company’s data strategy.  This role will work closely with business stakeholders across sales, marketing, operations, and IT to deliver actionable insights. As a bilingual leader, they will manage a dedicated offshore team, consisting of data scientists, data engineers, and Power BI developers. The primary focus will be aligning data initiatives with business goals, enhancing communication, and fostering a data-driven culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Strategy:
    • Act as the primary liaison between business units and the BI offshore team, ensuring alignment of data strategy with business objectives.
    • Provide tactical and managerial leadership to guide the offshore team in developing effective BI solutions.
    • Collaborate with executive leadership to refine the BI roadmap and prioritize projects.
    • Drive the evolution of the organization’s BI capabilities by implementing best practices and introducing innovative solutions.
  • Business Engagement:
    • Lead cross-functional conversations with stakeholders from sales, marketing, and operations to gather business requirements and deliver actionable insights.
    • Translate complex business needs into technical solutions, ensuring data accuracy and relevance.
    • Act as a subject matter expert in data interpretation, providing clear narratives from data visualizations and reports.
  • Team Management:
    • Manage and mentor a team of offshore resources, including data engineers, data scientists, and Power BI developers.
    • Establish effective communication channels and bridge gaps between technical and non-technical teams.
    • Provide hands-on guidance in data modeling, ETL processes using Databricks, and data visualization with Power BI.
  • Operational Excellence:
    • Ensure data quality, governance, and security standards are met across all BI deliverables.
    • Collaborate with data engineering teams to enhance and maintain data warehouse architecture.
    • Implement streamlined ETL processes using Databricks to optimize data pipelines.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 
    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field
    • 5+ years of experience in BI, data analytics, or data management.
    • 3+ years of experience in a leadership or managerial role with offshore team management.
    • Proven experience with Power BI, Databricks, and ETL tools
  • Skills: 
    • Bilingual in English and Spanish (required).
    • Strong business acumen with the ability to understand and interpret business challenges.
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to engage with both technical teams and business stakeholders.
    • Hands-on experience in data warehousing, data modeling, and data visualization.
    • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional projects and manage competing priorities.
    • Familiarity with managing BI functions separate from core digital and IT teams.
    • Experience supporting sales, marketing, and operational analytics.
    • Previous experience working with international teams, particularly in Latin America.
